Ranger / Necro / Druid — Mallow's Phinigel Sweep
Chris Mallow's Phinigel run — D0 through D4 in one sitting at level 44 in +4 gear, the cheapest D4 clear logged. Necro pet does most of the work; fire and poison beat the seahorse adds.
Overview
Documented from Chris Mallow's stream, where Phinigel went down D0 through D4 in one sitting at level 44 in roughly +4 gear — the cheapest D4 clear logged. Compiled guide, not his official write-up.
The necro pet does most of the DPS. The D4 kill landed on the first attempt, barely: boss at 11% when the mana ran out, and the pet finished it. Seahorse adds hard-resist magic dots, so the damage plan is fire and poison.
D4 Phinigel plays as an out-mana fight — sit and recover while the caster boss burns its own bar. Bosses roll a random multiclass each pull, so no two attempts play the same.
Stances & Invocations
Stance
Evasive
95% chance to evade all incoming attacks. Every point evaded costs 2 endurance, reduced by Strategy skill. Evasion fails without endurance or while feigning death.
Ranger, Monk, Bard, Rogue, Beastlord
Invocation
Recovery
Mana regen doubled and spells cost 5% less mana. Out-of-combat regen unaffected; the regen modifier stays active out of combat even when the invocation isn't.
Cleric, Paladin, Ranger, Shadow Knight, Druid, Bard, Shaman, Necromancer, Wizard, Magician, Enchanter, Beastlord
Arcane Mastery
Spell cast and recovery times −20%, another −10% per additional intelligence class. Detrimental spell mana cost −10%, another −5% per intelligence class.
Shadow Knight, Necromancer, Wizard, Magician, Enchanter
The fight is won sitting down — Recovery is the actual boss killer here.

Playstyle Notes
Fishbone earring in, pet in first, fire and poison stacked, then the rhythm: cast until the bar complains, sit, let the boss waste its own mana, stand and repeat. Sit-to-stand breaks the vortex stun. If the roll gives the boss a bad multiclass, take the wipe and re-pull.
AA Priorities
- Dot crit — Necro scaling
- Mana regen — The whole fight is a mana race
Gear Notes
| Item | Source | Detail |
|---|---|---|
| Fishbone Earring | Dropped | Hayden/Kenos vendor — water breathing, non-negotiable in Kedge |
Pros & Cons
- The cheapest D4 clear on the books — level 44 in +4 gear
- The pet finishes fights after your bar dies
- Underwater raiding with zero drowning drama once the earring drops
- One-boss specialist — this is the Phinigel answer, not a boss tour
- Written pre-July-14 patch
- Random boss multiclass each pull means some rolls just lose
