Warrior / Shaman / Necro — The D4 Answer
The trio the D4 meta converged on. Three creators landed on the same core; Moroloan TV cleared D4 Vox and D4 Nagafen at level 43 on camera. Slow, dots, plate, and lifetap sustain.
Overview
Three independent creators — Pryy, Kung, and Moroloan — arrived at this core during launch week, and Moroloan put the proof on camera: D4 Vox and D4 Nagafen at level 43 in Indicolite gear. His read: "possibly the strongest build in the game, might actually be more meta than Warrior/Cleric at this point." Compiled guide with credit to all three; not an official write-up.
Warrior brings the best melee mitigation and plate access. Shaman brings the slow, the buff stack, and backup heals — "Slug's healing made the difference" on the D4 dragon kills. Necro brings dots, lifetap sustain, and mana through the lich line. D4 boss HP pools turn every kill into an out-sustain fight, and this trio is built entirely out of sustain.
Iksar is the race pick for the +35 AC that bypasses the cap. Odium was not required for the D4 dragons at 43 — he stated he could have done it at 42.
Independent corroboration (TRACKER-2026-08-06): Grimthule reported on stream that Warrior / Necro / Shaman "has killed everything on D4, all raid targets."
Stances & Invocations
Stance
Defensive
Incoming physical damage −50%, magical −20%. Every point reduced consumes equal endurance, reduced by Strategy skill.
Warrior, Paladin, Shadow Knight
Invocation
Recovery
Mana regen doubled and spells cost 5% less mana. Out-of-combat regen unaffected; the regen modifier stays active out of combat even when the invocation isn't.
Cleric, Paladin, Ranger, Shadow Knight, Druid, Bard, Shaman, Necromancer, Wizard, Magician, Enchanter, Beastlord
OverChannel
Cast spells get a −150 resist adjust plus another −15 per non-hybrid caster class, at 10% of the spell's mana cost in endurance.
Cleric, Paladin, Ranger, Shadow Knight, Druid, Bard, Shaman, Necromancer, Wizard, Magician, Enchanter, Beastlord
Defensive stance for the mitigation while dots tick; Recovery keeps the two casting bars alive through long fights; OverChannel lands dots through D4 resists.
Key Abilities
Necromancer
| # | Name | Note |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Lich line SPELL | Mana engine — keep it running, lifetaps cover the HP cost |
| 2 | Bond of Death SPELL | Core sustain dot |
| 3 | Dot stack SPELL | Necro + Shaman dots together are the kill engine |
Shaman
| # | Name | Note |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Slow SPELL | First cast on every boss — nothing starts until the slow lands |
| 2 | Malosini line SPELL | Resist debuff so the dots stick |
Warrior
| # | Name | Note |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Taunt ABILITY | Hold the boss steady while dots do the work |
Targets
| Target | Zone | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Lord Nagafen | Nagafen's Lair | |
| Lady Vox | Permafrost | |
| Innoruuk | Plane of Hate |
Playstyle Notes
Slow the boss first, always. Stack the Necro and Shaman dots, tank in Defensive, and ride lifetap sustain under half health — that is the whole loop. The necro pet holds adds only; this is not a pet damage build, so no Puma on the pet.
Raid HP now scales +300% in groups only (July 14 patch), so solo is the intended lane for this trio — the clears above are all solo and unaffected.
AA Priorities
- Warrior's Endurance — Endurance regen for stance upkeep
- Slow magnitude — Shaman slow line
- Quick Buff — Shaman — rebuffing three bars is constant
- Dot crit — Necro damage scaling
- Lich line — Necro mana return
- AC / HP archetype — General points throughout
Gear Notes
| Item | Source | Detail |
|---|---|---|
| Indicolite set | Dropped | Plane of Hate — Warrior-only 20 AC pieces, the raid tank set |
| Cloak of Flames | Dropped | Nagafen D1 |
| FBSS or haste item | Dropped | Early haste slot until something better drops |
| Shimmering Ruby Stiletto | Dropped | Lower Guk — backstab-10 offhand if you run one; not backstab-primary here |
Pros & Cons
- The confirmed D4 clear trio — dragons down at level 43 on camera
- Fully self-sufficient: slow, heals, sustain, and mana with no Cleric dependency
- Scales into the two remaining walls — the only Innoruuk D4 claim runs this core
- Slower kill speed than glass builds — every fight is a grind-down
- Buff-heavy setup across three bars before each pull
- Three-bar spell management the whole fight
Why Shimmering Ruby Stiletto, warriors can't backstab? Or is that something we are able to do in EQL without Rogue as one of our class combos?
