The EverQuest Legends Farm List — items and camps worth your time, 1 to 50

Six weeks of beta chat produced a real consensus on what to farm and where, and most of it isn’t written down anywhere. This is the working list — the items players recommend to each other in-game, the camps they form groups for, and the drops being linked in general chat all week. Beta wipes on July 21, so treat this as your launch-day target list.

A dated caveat up front: weapon and item procs are broken in the current build, so proc weapons feel dead right now. The recommendations below reflect how they work when procs function.

Weapons for plate classes (Paladin, SK, Warrior)

Ghoulbane is the camp everyone loves to hate. It drops in Lower Guk, it’s no-drop, and the placeholder grind is as brutal as it ever was — but there’s also a legitimate quest route for it now, with legs running through Najena, Unrest, and Mistmoore, and the quest is the sane path if the camp burns you out. Multiple Ghoulbanes dropped and got celebrated in general chat this week, so it’s alive and being farmed.

The Sporali Defender’s Blade out of Runny Eye is the level-30 answer. Asked what a level 30 SK should be farming, the channel’s reply was immediate and unanimous — and the follow-up sums it up: not an easy farm, but the best weapon you’ll hold until raid gear. The Blackened Alloy Longsword offhand drops at the same camp, so the trip pays twice.

If Ghoulbane and Runny Eye both wear you out, the fallback list from the same conversation: the Enchanted Fine Steel Bastard Sword out of Najena (one player farmed his to +9 in about three days), the Blackened Alloy Bastard Sword, the Sword of the Lost, and the Silver Plated War Sword. For 2-handers, the Mithril Two-Handed Sword got called fantastic, Befallen drops a good 2-hander of its own, and an Earthshaker is worth grabbing for the proc alone once you’re 45.

Weapons for Rogues, Bards, and Monks

The established paired camp in Lower Guk is the Flowing Black Silk Sash and Sword of Yakesha — bards were begging for invites to that group all week, and a first-kill FBSS drop got announced in chat like a lottery win. The FBSS is still the haste item of record.

Najena is the piercer hub: the Shimmering Ruby Stiletto line comes off the Korven camp — and note that Korven drops piercers only; the 1h slash everyone asks about is on the knight one room over. The Dragoon Dirk in Neriak remains a 100% drop on a 2-minute spawn for the 18–22 stretch. Monks: the fists drop off the unbound flame near the Najena entrance, and Drelzna in the same zone drops a spear plus the Journeyman’s Boots–type drop.

Nobody in six weeks of chat produced a good answer for backstab weapons in the revamped zones — if you find one, you know something the channel doesn’t.

Najena deserves its own section

The third revamped dungeon, level range 20 to 30, and the most talked-about farm zone in the game after Befallen. Beyond the weapons above: an easy-to-get 10% haste belt at a level where haste items shouldn’t exist, the pet focus item every pet build wants, and a named-drop pool players linked all week — Blackened Iron Bastard Sword, Black Alloy Medallion, Enchanted Fine Steel Morning Star, Sharp Claws, Runed Sabertooth Girdle, Refugee Shroud, Keg Mallet. One quirk: the locked doors make you hold the key on your cursor, unlike Befallen.

Armor by level

1–15: raw hide drops frequently in Blackburrow even at D0, and the Pristine Studded set off Befallen’s named mobs is the reliable step up in the same level range. The Hardened Bark Breastplate drops in Blackburrow too.

15–31: Blackburrow’s lower floors carry you to about 15 in mail. After that, the honest chat answer is that the leather and the one or two plate pieces out of Najena and Befallen beat anything else you’ll find in the bracket. Highkeep basement adds bronze and ring mail at 25–27. Rubicite is back in Cazic-Thule — the helm comes off one of the golems — but check the stats before you commit to a rubicite farm; players are questioning whether the set still carries anything beyond AC.

40 and up: the Indicolite set out of the Planes is the Warrior chase set, Jarn’s Ring is the ring-slot progression piece, and the Runed Bone Fork with its stack of resists earns a spot on any caster. Resists are going to matter.

Motes — the farm that never ends

Motes of Potential are the upgrade currency for gear and spells, and at 50 the farming answer is settled: D4 Plane of Hate or Plane of Fear. Drop rate follows the con of the mob and your difficulty tier — yellows and reds at high difficulty are the payoff, and grey mobs drop nothing. The rule of thumb from chat holds for everything on this page: D0 for leveling, D4 for farming, and a non-respawning instance for a clean clear.

Farm the effect, not the item

Exaltations change what “worth farming” means. You can pull a proc, focus, or click effect off one item and slot it into a better one — which makes some otherwise-mediocre drops valuable donors. The bard version of this is the best trick on the page: plussing an instrument does not raise its instrument mod, but it lets you extract the mod and slot it elsewhere. Farm instruments as donors — a Crested Mistmoore Shield turns into an any-slot instrument mod. Remember the rules: the source item goes no-trade after extraction, class and slot locks travel with the effect, and all-class exaltations are the valuable ones.

Quest chains still worth the grind

The full Lambit armor chain survived the revamp intact — hill giant Lambit stones (roughly a 15–20% drop; budget a couple hours for a handful), the dark bone bracelet from Unrest, shin pieces from Lower Guk, vambraces and boots off the Solusek named, icy greaves from Permafrost’s elite guards, and the Mistmoore pieces. Gnoll fang turn-ins to Captain Tillin in South Qeynos remain the classic starter loop — XP, coin, and faction per fang. And now that the Estate of Unrest is open again, there’s a key to sort out for the deeper floors — camp your key before you need it.

The gear-merging math that makes difficulty worth it

Higher difficulty doesn’t change the loot table — it raises the plus-tier and merge value of what drops. Each tier doubles the merge points: D0 counts 1, D1 counts 2, D2 counts 4, D3 counts 8, D4 counts 16. A D4 drop is worth sixteen D0 drops when you’re pushing an item toward +10. That’s the whole reason “D4 for farming” is the rule — and it’s why the dev target of maxing one gear set to +10 per expansion is realistic for a casual schedule if you farm at the top tier.
